Phase II Construction: The Journey
Since the completion of Phase 1 expansion in November of 2004, we actively Fundraised for a Phase II expansion. This fundraising initiative called "Building for Their Future" was a joint initiative between Trico Centre (formerly Family Leisure Centre) and Bow Valley Hockey Society and the project is now completed.
Trico Homes commitment of $1.5 million over 10 years, culminating in the renaming of FLC to Trico Centre for Family Wellness, happend on October 1st, 2008. Both the City of Calgary and the Province of Alberta have been generous donors and supporters. (see Press Releases below for details)

The Phase II expansion included twinning our existing arena, re-modeling the facilities front entrance to improve access for users, improvements to the outdoor athletic fields surrounding our facility, construction of a new family change room, expansion of the food services area and additional parking space. The renovation was completed ahead of schedule in December 2009. .
Phase II Fundraising: Annual Golf Tournament
Part of the fundraising is our Annual Golf Tournament held the first Tuesday in June at the McKenzie Meadows Golf Club. Over the past 3 years we have raised over $100,000 with the generous help of corporate sponsors including Trico Homes, Molson Breweries, Southcentre Mall, Gibbs Gage Architects, Butlin Oke Roberts Nobles Braun and many other companies.
