Healthy Swimming Etiquette

Trico Centre strives to maintain a safe, clean, and healthy pool for you and your family to enjoy while you visit us. That is why we follow the Alberta Health Services guidelines for healthy pools. Before you come to visit us, please note the following so that everyone can enjoy our pool!

SHOWER BEFORE YOU SWIM

Shower with soap and warm water from head-to-toe (including your hair) before entering or re-entering the pool or hot tub. We ask that everyone does this to make sure as much of the chemicals and contaminates are off your body prior to entering the pool, leaving the chlorine to do its job and protect our swimmers against the bad stuff!

WEAR APPROPRIATE FOOTWEAR

Sneakers are great for our fitness centre, but not on the pool deck, please! Bring clean flip-flops, sandals, or water shoes used specifically for pools to wear on the pool deck.

NOT FEELING WELL?

The best way to get better when you’re sick is to get lots of rest! Please refrain from using the pool when you’re ill, or if you’ve experienced diarrhea in the last two weeks.

PREVENT POOL FOULING

Accidents happen, we get that! However, we ask all of our patrons to take careful steps to preventing them as much as possible. Please refrain from feeding children or eating large meals before visiting us. We also encourage all swimmers to use the washroom before entering the pool (which is much less embarrassing than IN the pool!)

WHAT TO WEAR

Patrons in the pool or hot tub must wear suitable swimwear.

Children who aren’t toilet trained must wear swim diapers and plastic pants made for use in swimming pools. Forgot to bring yours? No worries! We offer both of the items for sale at our Guest Services desk!

FOOD-FREE ZONE

Only water in reusable, non-glass, drinking containers is permitted on the pool deck.

STROLLERS

Strollers are not permitted in the change rooms, or on the pool deck.

PHOTOGRAPHIC DEVICES

The use of any device capable of taking a photo or video (including cell phones) is prohibited in the showers, washrooms, change rooms, and pool area.
